what started as a drink and a conversation about an old denver blues bar, has now become the first venue by oskar blues in lodo. The Black buzzard was a drink created by Kellner Schoenke at our restaurant in longmont that was made with bacon infused bourbon mixed with ten fidy imperial stout.
while drinking the black buzzard one night, chef/oskar blues fooderies partner, jason rogers and kellner started talking about watching blues in denver and realized that years earlier they had both been hanging at the same bar on 16th and market street around the same time: the now closed brendan's.
years later, as jason was searching to open a new space in denver, brendan's was available and it seemed like the time was perfect to put some blues music back in the heart of lodo and only one named made sense: the black buzzard.
Just like the black buzzard drink fused bourbon and beer, the black buzzard music venue will join the worlds of oskar blues craft beer culture and kick ass live music.
